THEATRE FOR YOUTH PROGRAMMING
The Theatre For Youth program focuses on quality works that give young audience members the opportunity to see themselves represented on stage and offer multiple perspectives of complex issues they or their peers are facing. The program introduces professional theatre to low-income local students, bringing students from Title I schools to Austin Playhouse for free daytime performances. Our mission is to inspire hope, empathy, and new understanding for young audience members through performance.
COMING UP
A heartfelt journey filled with hope, imagination, and the magic of wishes! It’s Carmela’s birthday, and she’s finally old enough to tag along on errands with her older brother. When she discovers a lone dandelion sprouting from the sidewalk, a simple outing becomes a whirlwind of dreams and possibilities. Poetic, playful, and brimming with heart, Carmela Full of Wishes is a moving celebration of growing up, speaking out, and holding on to what matters most. Click here to learn more.
