OUR COMMITMENT

Austin Playhouse is committed to being an equitable, diverse, inclusive, anti-racist theatre.  This commitment is reflected in our work on stage, in the community, and within our workforce. Austin Playhouse’s leadership, staff, board of directors, and artistic company are committed to promoting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of the Theatre’s programming and operations. We are conscious and intentional about fostering a safe and welcoming environment. As part of an industry with foundations of systemic racism and anti-Blackness, we acknowledge our organization’s history as a predominantly white institution. Our EDI task force is conducting a review of our operations. They will be making actionable recommendations and implementing new policies that will be shared on this page and with members of our community and stakeholders. We are currently revising our mission, vision, and values to reflect this focus.
