Dear Friends,

At Austin Playhouse the health and safety of our incredible community of artists and audiences is our highest priority. Along with our colleagues locally and around the nation, we have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and its impact on live events. We appreciate the large venue managers who are making the very difficult decision to suspend operations during this unprecedented public health crisis. Last week we introduced enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures, including a plan to sanitize the theatre between performances. These measures will continue for the foreseeable future. On Tuesday we started rehearsals for Indecent, Paula Vogel's stunningly beautiful play with music scheduled to open on April 3rd. We are fully committed to bringing this relevant, moving piece of theatre to Austin. However, we are evaluating potential schedule changes including a delayed opening.
